User Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

By creating an account, using the Detour Global platform, connecting with another user, or arranging any experience through the platform, both Detour Explorers and Detour Insiders expressly acknowledge, agree to, and are bound by the terms of this Waiver.

1. Platform Role & Nature of Service

Detour Global Ltd ("Detour Global", "we", "us", "the platform") is a digital marketplace and technology platform only. We do not provide travel services, tours, experiences, or any form of hospitality. We do not employ, supervise, direct, control, vet, or monitor either Detour Explorers or Detour Insiders in their interactions, communications, or arrangements with one another. Any agreement for an experience, meet-up, or service is made directly and exclusively between the Detour Explorer and the Detour Insider. Detour Global is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility for, any such agreement.

2. Assumption of Risk by Detour Explorers

As a Detour Explorer, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Meeting and travelling with individuals you connect with through the internet involves inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, property damage, theft, financial loss, and emotional distress.
• Detour Insiders are independent individuals, not employees or representatives of Detour Global. Their backgrounds, skills, conduct, and suitability are not guaranteed by Detour Global.
• You are solely responsible for assessing the risks of any experience, location, or interaction and for making your own informed decisions about whether to proceed.
• You assume all risks — known and unknown, foreseeable and unforeseeable — associated with any interaction, meeting, or experience arranged through or in connection with the platform.

3. Assumption of Risk by Detour Insiders

As a Detour Insider, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Hosting, guiding, or meeting individuals you connect with through the internet involves inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, theft, financial loss, defamation, and false accusations.
• Detour Explorers are independent individuals, not vetted or guaranteed by Detour Global. Their backgrounds, intentions, conduct, and suitability are not guaranteed by Detour Global.
• You are solely responsible for assessing the risks of any experience, location, or interaction and for making your own informed decisions about whether to accept a connection.
• You assume all risks — known and unknown, foreseeable and unforeseeable — associated with any interaction, meeting, or experience arranged through or in connection with the platform.

4. Unforeseen Issues & Disputes Between Users

Detour Global is not responsible for any unforeseen issues, incidents, disputes, losses, injuries, damages, claims, or liabilities of any kind that may arise between Detour Explorers and Detour Insiders, whether:

• occurring before, during, or after any experience or interaction;
• involving one user, both users, or third parties;
• arising from negligence, misrepresentation, breach of agreement, or any other cause;
• foreseeable or unforeseeable at the time of connection.

This includes, without limitation: physical injury, illness, death, property damage or loss, theft, fraud, defamation, harassment, discrimination, breach of contract, failure to attend, misdescription of experiences, or dissatisfaction with the quality, safety, or nature of any experience.

5. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, both Detour Explorers and Detour Insiders hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Detour Global Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, agents, affiliates, successors, and assigns from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, directly or indirectly arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death, or any other harm, whether to person or property, that occurs in connection with any use of the platform or any interaction between users.

6. No Warranty of Safety or Quality

Detour Global makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees — express or implied — about the safety, legality, quality, accuracy, or suitability of any user, experience, listing, review, or content on the platform. We do not verify the truthfulness of user-submitted content in real time. Reviews, badges, and verification checks are provided for information only and do not constitute a guarantee of future conduct or experience quality.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Detour Global Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the platform, your interactions with other users, or your breach of this Waiver or our Terms & Conditions.

8. Insurance & Personal Responsibility

Both Detour Explorers and Detour Insiders are strongly encouraged to maintain appropriate personal, travel, liability, and property insurance. Detour Global does not provide insurance coverage for user interactions. Relying on the platform does not replace your obligation to protect yourself, your property, and your legal interests.

9. Governing Law

This Waiver is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to this Waiver shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Severability

If any provision of this Waiver is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

11. Acknowledgment & Acceptance

By registering for an account, logging in, or otherwise using the Detour Global platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to be bound by this User Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk in its entirety. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
